Somehow I've managed to lose the entry I wrote up the day after I did the food drive so I'm just going to write it up as
best as I can remember.
Val and I arrived at the Milford Grand Union early in the morning. When we got there we found out that they didn't have a
table for us, and since every time I've done a food drive they've given us a table, I didn't even think to bring one. So I
spent a good few hours calling everyone I could think to call. None of that seemed to help and I began feeling very discouraged
and upset. I was expecting this event to be the easiest one of all because I'm so familiar with doing them. So there Val and
I were without a table and without volunteers. No one showed up on time and a lot of people didn't show up at all. So I was
a few seconds away from just giving up and then I decided to walk down to Pastor Dave's and ask him if he had a table. Luckily
he did and he even offered to take me back to G.U.
Eventually some more people came. We got food and raised some money :) The rest is pretty much history.
I'd like to give a special Thank You to the following people:
Val Thank you so much for making my signs, volunteering your time, and offering up encouraging words when I needed
them. You were my star volunteer and I can't thank you enough for being there. Your efforts allowed us to raise a decent amount
of money which will allow people to have a good meal on their table. Thank you and God Bless :)!
Pastor Dave Thanks for the table, and for all of the assistance you gave.
Jenn, Ian, and Amanda Thank you not only for volunteering, but for bringing food with you :)!
Connie - Thanks for coming!
Pastor Ben Thank you for allowing us to drop the food off at the church. Also thank you for giving me the numbers
of people to contact and for answering any questions I had. It's much appreciated.
A special thank you also goes out to my mommy for making me my slips lol.
Once again thank you to everyone who donated/prayed/helped out! None of this would have been possible without you guys.
